If you’re looking for some family fun or just would like to see some wildlife, New Orleans is also home to some amazing nature institutes.
For one we have the Audobon Aquarium. This is one of the largest indoor aquariums in America and it houses more than 3,500 animals with over 240 different species. This also includes some endangered species! They even have different environments for the animals ranging from a tropical rainforest setting, an Icelandic setting for penguins and a Caribbean setting as well. They even have seating areas in different parts where you can watch the staff feed the wildlife. Don’t forget they have a bird section where you can feed parakeets! We also have the Audobon Zoo if you’re into more of an outdoor nature institute. This nature institute is another one that ranks top 10 in America, rated by some, and is home to many different species of animals. There are also many different terrain types for the animals they house. For instance, swamp, desert and many more! This institute also participates in educational programs to further help humans understand how beautiful these animals really are. The highest elevation in New Orleans is also here, Monkey Hill, where your kids can play and even get a little wet so bring a towel.
